Thankful Feast with our After School Students and Parents

We have so much to be thankful for with our after school programs. Both of our OASIS campuses and Peyton's House girls and guys joined us with their parents for our Thankful Feast. After not being able to meet together to share a meal last year, this year felt especially wonderful to be together again for one of our favorite events of the year.

Special care was taken with attention to detail as the tables were set for this time of fellowship and feasting.

Thank you to First Baptist Church of Jackson for preparing the delicious Thanksgiving meal and to volunteers from Park Place Baptist Church in Pearl for serving and cleaning up.

Coach Willis Bridges gave the blessing for the food and program that had been prepared.

We are so grateful for our Mission First staff! From left to right: Israel Griffins (Director of Community Development) helped get our campus ready; Javonn Davis (Director of Peyton's House guys) shared a personal testimony on why he's grateful in this season; Dr. Myah Lane (Director of OASIS) oversaw the event as it came together. A special thanks to Director of Peyton's House girls, Cheryl Reese and our Directors of Education, Ms. Claudette Nolan and Johnnie Bruce (NCC campus) for all of their work this semester. We also want to thank Reverend Marshall Magee for leading us in a song of worship.

For our program, our NCC OASIS students prepared "ABC's of Scripture" as an expression of their thankfulness. We also had individual students share what they were grateful for and a solo performance of "This Little Light of Mine" in which everyone joined in on in praise and worship!

We had a wonderful evening in worship, fellowship, and joining together with family and friends.

One of our NCC parents shared with us the next day, "We appreciate the dinner. We're thankful we found Mission First." This brings us much joy in the ministry work God has enabled us to do!
